François Perl headed the Belgian public disability benefits scheme for 12 years. Since March 2021, he is Director of Public Affairs, Studies, Advocacy and International Affairs at Solidaris, one of the largest mutual social insurance societies in Belgium.

He is also Vice President of Rehabilitation International and Chairman of the rehabilitation working group of the International Social Security Association.
