prof. Anna Wilmowska-Pietruszyńska

A graduate of the Medical Academy in Warsaw. A specialist in the field of neurology, pediatric neurology and public health. In 1973, she obtained the title of doctor of medical sciences, and in 1996, of habilitation in medical sciences.

In the years 1964-1971 she worked as an assistant in the Department of Neurology of the Central Railway Hospital, then she worked as an assistant professor at the Department of Children's Neurology at the Institute of Mother and Child in Warsaw. In the years 1990-2003 she was the Director of the Medical Certification Department and the Chief Medical Officer of the Social Insurance Institution. In the years 2001-2018 she was an associate professor at the Medical Faculty of the University of Rzeszów, where from 2006 she was the Director of the Institute of Physiotherapy. Currently, he is a professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Lazarski University in Warsaw.

She lectured in the field of social security and medical certification at postgraduate studies at the Medical University of Warsaw, the Faculty of Law of the University of Warsaw and the Medical Chamber for trainee doctors, as well as at the Public Health School of the Postgraduate Medical Education Center in Warsaw, where in 2001-2012 she held the position of Head of the Department of Medical Certification and Insurance.

She is the author of over 200 scientific works and publications in the field of public health,

including medical law, medical certification in social security and disability prevention, with particular emphasis on the role of comprehensive rehabilitation. He is the promoter of 12 doctoral dissertations and 180 master's theses. He is the author of the dissertation entitled "Building a system of medical certification in Poland on the basis of the current state of affairs, experiences of other countries and own research"; the monograph "Medical certification for doctors and students of medical faculties and medical and dental faculties" (6 editions) and the co-author of the monograph "Forensic and medical opinion". He is also the co-author of the publication "Social security of the risk of disease and its consequences - inability to work and inability to live independently in Poland. Current status

She was the initiator and co-author of the reform of medical certification on temporary and long-term incapacity to work and the medical rehabilitation system as part of disability prevention of the Social Insurance Institution. She is the content coordinator of the EU project

"Development and pilot implementation of a comprehensive rehabilitation model that allows you to start or return to work".

She actively participates in numerous national and international conventions and congresses. She is the organizer of many scientific conferences. In 2014, she chaired the Program Committee of the European Conference "Rehabilitation International:" Rehabilitation - value for societies in Europe ".

She is the President of the Polish Society of Medical Certification. She was also a member of the Main Board of the Polish Rehabilitation Society. In 2006-2007, she chaired the Team appointed by the Minister of Health, prof. Zbigniew Religa to develop a draft of the Nursing Act for people incapable of living independently as a result of illness or injury, and chaired the Independent People's Council at the Minister of Health.

She is the initiator and chairman of the Council at the Healthcare Information Systems Center, which prepares the implementation in Poland of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, developed by the World Health Organization.

For many years, she has been actively participating in the work of the medical self-government, holding the position of the Chairperson of the Audit Committee of the District Medical Chamber in Warsaw for 2 terms, and currently a member of the Supreme Audit Committee of the Supreme Medical Chamber.

She is a member of the Council of Experts at the Patients' Rights Ombudsman and a member of the Council for Senior Policy at the Ministry of Family and Social Policy.

For many years, she cooperated with the Disabled War Association, and now

cooperates with non-governmental organizations such as the Integracja Association or the Polish Mental Handicap Association.

Decorated with the Knight's Cross, the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta and the Gold Medal for Long Service, the Laudabilis Award of the Regional Medical Chamber in Warsaw, an honorary badge for merits for health protection, the award of the Minister of Health for the overall scientific, didactic and organizational achievements and coordination of the work of the team for the development of the draft act on social nursing care insurance, the Medal of the National Education Commission and the Medal of the Friend of Integration.
